Comedy icon Jerry Lewis was released from a New York hospital yesterday after collapsing Tuesday night before he was to present Tom Cruise with the Friars Entertainment Icon Award. Lewis’ friend and rep Candi Cazau told Page Six last night that Lewis was “released from the hospital, and . . . getting ready to return to work” after he’d been admitted for low blood sugar. Lewis is heading into rehearsals this month for the musical he’s directing based on his 1963 movie “The Nutty Professor.” The show will debut in Nashville next month before heading to Broadway. Lewis, 86, also has a date to play the Primm Valley Resort in Nevada on July 14. - NY Post
