In 2005, Sissel Tolaas started a research project which reproduced sweat molecules into micro units that could only be activated again by touch. These microencapsulated sweat smells were integrated into a transparent, smell-neutral binder. Walls were then “painted” with this solution. Only touching the wall released the sweat smells.
