Stieg Larsson

Stieg Larsson was a Swedish novelist best known for a series of crime novels known as the Millennium trilogy. Mr. Larsson, a journalist dedicated to fighting right-wing extremism in Sweden, died in 2004 at 50, before any of the novels were published and with little clue of how popular they would become. His books have become a publishing phenomenon, selling 6 million copies in the United States and 35 million copies worldwide as of June 2010. - NY Times
