Liz Klein is a partner in Basilico Klein LLC, a New York-based art advisory firm serving clients across the globe. Klein advises clients in the purchase, management and sale of works of fine and decorative art. She serves as an independent advocate for clients with world-class existing collections as well as those building new collections, providing experience, insight and access to an international arts arena. Her more than 15 years of professional experience span multiple media and genres, including American, Impressionist, Modern, and Contemporary art and design.Klein was previously an assistant vice president at Sotheby’s auction house, where she led online strategy and business development and managed a joint venture with Amazon.com. From 1994 to 1997, she was assistant curator with a small arts consulting firm, where she helped develop, install, and maintain collections exceeding 6,000 works of art and served clients such as Ronald S. Lauder, chairman of The Museum of Modern Art; the United Nations Ambassador’s Residence; The New York Hospital (Greenberg Pavilion); and The Estee Lauder Companies. She began her arts career in the American Furniture and Decorative Arts Department at Christie’s auction house and with The Mary Cassatt Foundation.
