PLEASE TRY TO FORGIVE JOSEPH JACKSON

Johnny Cash has signed and inscribed his autobiography “Man In Black” to notorious serial killer Gary Gilmore in black felt tip pen. Gilmore, a huge fan of Cash’s music, would apparently play Cash's music prior to committing his murders. Before his execution in prison, Gilmore requested a signed copy of Cash’s book from Cash himself. Cash complied with the request and signed and inscribed the inside blank page, “To Gary Gilmore, Good Luck, Johnny Cash, Hendersonville, Tenn – Jan. 5, 1976" [sic]. Cash had misdated the inscription as result of the recent New Year. The book is accompanied by the original mailing envelope made out to Gilmore from the House of Cash, postmarked January 6, 1977. The prison would not lot Gilmore receive the book and it was sent on to Gilmore’s family. The envelope has expected wear from mailing, the book itself is in overall very fine condition. Estimate: $300 - $400.
